|Topic(s)||Watson, IBM's Brainchild|
Watson, the brainchild of IBM's DeepQA, is a well-known A.I. computer system that competed against Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter in Jeopardy. The computer proved to be a worthy opponent, handily beating out its two human opponents in one of the most well-known human versus machine competitions to date. This nugget will discuss the minds behind Watson, where its intelligence is derived from (and the debate over if it is actually "intelligent"), a broad overview of its structure, and what its appearance on Jeopardy means for the field of Artificial Intelligence as a whole. It will also touch upon Watson's current development.
